Produce to Florida

Florida Assisted Living Association is proud to be working with fantastic organizations giving back to the communities! Independent Living Systems, through its non-profit arm, Independent Living Community Services reached out to FALA to offer free food box distribution to ALFs and AFCHs throughout the entire state! That means 11 regions will have deliveries each week making it possible for every ALF and AFCH to have access to this spectacular program!

Independent Living Systems; its affiliate, Florida Community Care; and Independent Living Community Services, are working together to deliver of fresh, natural and wholesome foods through the Farmers to Families Food Box Program sponsored by the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA). The USDA Farmers to Families Food Box Program is a temporary program that works with farmers, ranchers, specialty crop producers, food processors and distributors, and non-profit organizations to ensure that all Americans have access to the fresh and wholesome food they need during the COVID-19 national emergency.

It is important that seniors have access to sufficient, safe, and nutritious food that meets their food preferences and dietary needs for a healthy life.
