The Foundation Scholarship
The Florida Assisted Living Foundation (the “Foundation”) is committed to promoting and advancing the education of our members and the assisted living profession. To demonstrate this commitment, the Foundation and its provides several scholarships annually for staff enrolled in an accredited college/university degree program in nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, gerontology, nutrition/dietary, or clinical social work. Other aging or health related fields may also be considered, however, preference will be given to those degree programs mentioned.
The scholarship process is open annually from January 1st - December 5th of each year. Applications and any accompanying documents to include letters of reference must be received during the time periods noted. Your application must be received prior to July 23rd of each year in order to compete for the August award. In order to compete for the January award, your application must be submitted by December 5th of each year. If reference forms are available during that time period. Instructions and general information remain available year round.

The following items are required for all scholarship applications. Be sure to check the requirements of the for which you are applying because you may need to mail additional documents.

- Required. Complete the application (which includes a personal statement).
- Required. Completed references (they must accompany the application if they are to be submitted). A total of three references may be submitted.
- Required. Official academic transcripts, if available, and current proof of enrollment (an award is provided only after enrollment is verified).
- Required. The completed application.

The FALA Foundation (the Foundation) is dedicated to providing advanced education for assisted living administrators, providing scholarships, and educating the public about assisted living. The Foundation is a 501(c)(3) and your contributions to the Foundation are tax deductible.
The Foundation provides scholarships to individuals who work in the assisted living profession and are seeking to advance their careers based on the following:

- The recipient has been employed by a FALA member for a minimum of two (2) years.
- The applicant would need to be previously enrolled in school or provide documentation of enrollment for the next semester.
